Nottingham Comedy Festival: The Joy of Decks / Improv Provocateur

Nottingham Comedy Festival: The Joy of Decks / Improv Provocateur

The first event of our Nottingham Comedy Festival program which we’re super excited to be hosting for the first time this year.

Alex Leams & The Joy of Decks 7.30 - 8.30pm

Before he got into stand up, Alex Leam's first career was as the country's only mobile DJ that couldn't drive.

A stand up show about life on the other side of the decks. An honest account of office parties, club nights, weddings, and being honey trapped for quiz answers.

Improv Provocateur 9 - 10pm

The illegitimate child of Improv and stand up, we hand select the bravest performers from across the festival and put them through their paces in a range of near the knuckle improvised games. The much sort after 'Handsome certificate' for the winner. Humiliation for the loser. Hosted by Alex Leam.

'This was such good fun, See it, Play it, Love it! - Tony Slattery' (Ed Fringe sell out show 2018)

Nottingham Comedy Festival: Simon Caine / Dan Webber

Nottingham Comedy Festival: Simon Caine / Dan Webber

7.30pm till 8.30pm – Simon Caine – Every Room is a panic room if you overthink enough

The director thinks the show is about sex. Simon thinks the show is about social media. Given how quickly he checks his phone after he's cum, it could be about both. 'A more authentic John Oliver' (Doug Stanhope) 'immediately entertaining, simultaneously relatable and bizarre' (BroadwayBaby.com)

9pm till 10pm – Dan Webber – Genre Fluid

The stand-up poet, reluctant bear and attempted vegan strips… away labels of life, love, the arts and the LGBTQ+ community in this fast-paced, honest and hilarious debut. Under constant pressure from marketing people to decide whether he is a comic or poet, Dan navigates through the confusing world of definitions.
